I have a non-Muslim friend who is interested in Islam and proposed to me to take him with me to the jumaa prayer. What is he permitted to do and is he not permitted of going in the mosque? Jazzakom Allah kheir

Wa alaikum as-salam wa rahmatullah,
This is very good that you bring non-Muslims to the Masjid to learn about Islam and to observe the prayer (i.e. watch). Ask the person to be properly dressed, if it is a lady she should have a scarf and a full atire. Tell them that when they enter the Masjid they should take off their shoes and men should sit in the men's section and women should sit in the woman's section. They do not have to stand up and join the prayer, but they can observe the prayers.
Treat them nicely and if there are some refreshments served at the Masjid you can invite them to partake in that. Also, try to give them some Islamic books and any good audio tapes and answer their questions and encourage them to come back. You should always pray for them that Allah may bring them to the right path.
